What does it mean to be a virtual financial planner?
I don’t meet clients in a traditional office but work remotely with them across NZ from my Christchurch office giving them financial advice over the phone and through Zoom (video conferencing).

MORE CONVENIENT - We can meet virtually during your lunchbreak, at work, on your couch or even on vacation. For couples, as we meet through Zoom, you don't even have to be at the same location together. As long as you have a device and a reliable internet connection we can meet.

GOOD FOR ENVIRONMENT - As you don't need to drive, you'll lower your carbon footprint by helping to reduce the carbon dioxide emitted and reduce the traffic on the road. Also, as my financial plans are digital, I minimise the use of paper, ink and other office supplies.

YOU CAN LIVE ANYWHERE - If you decide to move, I can still give you financial advice and our relationship will still continue the same way no matter where you are in NZ. This isn't possible if you get advice from a financial planner in a traditional office or if they come to visit you.

Experience & Background
Simon founded NZ Wealth Planning to help professionals, business owners and farmers get better with money and accumulate wealth so they can become financially independent and achieve greater financial success. Simon brings over 17 years of experience working in finance roles across investments, retirement planning, financial risk management and consulting in NZ, Australia and the UK and worked at companies such as Deloitte, ASB Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Westpac. He is passionate about working with indivduals, farmers and business owners to help them reach their investment and retirement planning goals so they can live the lifestyles they desire now and in retirement.
Simon also provides consulting services to helps companies manage their cash flows, debt and risk of loss from fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, interest rates and commodity prices including milk prices. This helps business owners reduce risk and uncertainty, improve margins and bottom-line results, saves time, and helps them focus on running their business. He has attended additional training in milk price risk management including the 2021 American Dairy Product Institute Dairy Risk Management and NZX’s Dairy Hedging and Governance seminars.
Simon grew up on a farm in Southland and his father’s land is currently leased to a dairy farmer. For leisure, Simon plays the guitar, is a keen tennis player and loves to spend time with family.
